Review: Pathfinder

I wanted to like Pathfinder. I really did. The concept was cool and the Vikings looked pretty good. Towards the end of the movie, we’re taken through a series of implausible events which lead to a disappointing ending. That isn’t the real problem however.

The true problem is that there just isn’t enough gratuitous carnage. I mean why else did anybody want to see this? To see Vikings slaughtering and getting slaughtered in as many gory ways as possible. While there are some gory battle scenes, Pathfinder falls far short of what was expected. Bottom line: you’re probably better off *gasp* renting The 13th Warrior.

I thought the avalanche looked terrible. It looked like stock footage that was put in at the last minute.
